About THE AUTHOR

Linden MacCartan studied economics and history at the University of Wisconsin and later graduated from the law school there. He began his career working in the U.S. Department of Commerce where he specialized in international trade of rockets and satellites. In 1998, he and his brother started SpotCast, the first technology company to specialize in profile driven content on mobile phones, an experience that shaped his thinking about data driven commerce and eventually spawned the ideas behind this book. He currently works as a senior executive in a renewable energy company, and spends his spare time writing science fiction. He lives in Potomac, MD with his Iranian born wife and his two children.
